How to get here, and where it is worth coming from.
Glamping Bambú is in the rural area of Pereira, at Hacienda Monterrey, Vereda El Estanquillo. You reach it by car on a rural road, or by Uber, DiDi or InDriver. Once your booking is confirmed we send the exact pin and directions for the last stretch on WhatsApp, which is the part no map explains well.
This is the shortest route. From anywhere in Pereira or Dosquebradas you can order an Uber, DiDi or InDriver and arrive directly, or drive and leave the car in the free parking beside the cabin. If you arrive after dark, have the pin already open on your phone: the final stretch is a rural road with little signage.
From Matecaña airport
The airport is inside Pereira, so from there it is a short ride by Uber, DiDi, InDriver or rental car. If you land and want groceries for the grill, there are supermarkets on the way before you leave the city.
From Armenia, Manizales, Cali, Medellín and Bogotá
Times are approximate and depend on traffic and weather. If you are coming from far away, plan to arrive before dark so you do the last rural stretch in daylight.
Armenia and the Quindío: about an hour on the Autopista del Café
Manizales: about an hour via Chinchiná and Santa Rosa
Cali: in the order of three to four hours via Cartago
Medellín: five to six hours on the Autopista del Café, or a short flight to Matecaña
Bogotá: a flight of under an hour to Matecaña airport
On arrival
Check-in from 3:00 PM, check-out at 11:00 AM. Tell us your arrival time on WhatsApp so the hot tub is warm. Parking is free, and from it a short path through the bamboo leads to the cabin. There are steps and uneven ground, so it is not wheelchair accessible.
When night falls, the grove lights up.
It is the reason most guests book and the thing every one of them photographs.
