Why sleep in Pereira rather than Salento
Salento and Filandia are towns to visit by day: the Cocora Valley, the painted balconies, the coffee. Sleeping there means mountain roads after dark and high-season prices. From Pereira you reach Filandia in a little over half an hour and Salento in about an hour, and you come back to a cabin where nobody else sleeps on the property.
Pereira is also the city with the most services in the region: restaurants, supermarkets, Uber and DiDi that actually work, and Matecaña airport minutes from the centre. For a couple's weekend, that matters.
Things to do near the glamping
Back at the cabin, the plan is the deck: the LED hot tub, a film on the projector, the fire table lit and the telescope if the sky is clear. The bamboo grove lights up from below after dark and it is what every guest ends up photographing.
- Santa Rosa de Cabal hot springs, roughly half an hour from Pereira
- Filandia, with its viewpoint and colourful streets, about 35 minutes away
- Salento and the Cocora Valley, about an hour away
- Coffee farms with tours and tastings around Pereira
- Parque Consotá and the UTP botanical garden for a quiet afternoon
- Dosquebradas and Pereira for dinner and groceries before heading up
What the cabin is like
A modern glass cabin inside a stand of giant bamboo, with a king bed, a private bathroom with hot water, wifi and a corner for sunrise coffee. The deck looks straight into the bamboo and a stream runs below, with a private trail leading down to it.
The rate is COP 250,000 Sunday to Thursday and COP 299,000 on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays, per night for two guests, roughly USD 80 and USD 96. Your dog stays free. Booking is by WhatsApp with a deposit.
